Accommodation

Accommodation Options

There are two accommodation options for students at the China Center. All students should familiarize themselves with the below options and write the China Center Adminstrator, Shentu Yujing , as soon as possible regarding your first choice.

This should be done as soon as possible and before June 30 (fall) to ensure your first choice housing option. No changes to requests for fall semester housing options will be accepted after August 15. Spring semester students should make reservations as soon as enrolment is confirmed. Since the Global College spring semester begins before the Zhejiang University fall quarter ends, other international students have not yet vacated and housing options may be limited.

International Student Dormitory

Students may elect to live on the Yuquan Campus in single dormitory rooms arranged by Zhejiang University. The dormitory is located in the International Students Building where language classes are held and a ten-minute walk from the China Center. Each single room is fully furnished and includes all utilities and cleaning. One semester students and short-term students tend to select this option.  Read more...

Off-campus Housing

Students may elect to independently find their own off-campus housing, but these students must notify their Faculty Advisor, the Academic Director and the administrators of the International College, and register with the local police office in their neighborhood district within twenty-four hours after moving.

Students are advised to arrive at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester to arrange private off-campus housing, since this can be time consuming and we do not provide assistance other than listing real estate contacts on this website.

What Students Say

"The field trips scheduled throughout the year should hardly be called "field trips" at all. Not many college field trips will have you carrying out ethnographic interviews in a remote Tibetan monastery, flying kites with the old men in Tiananmen Square, or dancing to the Backstreet Boys on a village National Day stage."

—Paul Cox, Fall 2006
