Döner Kebap

OliverOriginally owned and operated by Oliver Przibill and his wife, Zhu Xiao (诸晓), Döner Kebap is now under local ownership and management, but still sells the same delicious pork grilled on a slow-rotating rotisserie, which is imported from Germany, and served in a toasted sesame pita bread topped with all the trimmings and mixed in tzatziki sauce. Delicious home cooked stew and fresh amaretto cupcakes are prepared daily. This popular eatery is located just outside Yuquan Campus on Yugu Road next to the Western Union.

Free Mori

The Free Mori café is located conveniently next to the front gate of the Yuquan Campus and offers the most inexpensive and best coffee this side of the lake. There are also a variety of baked goods on offer, including sugar-coated doughnuts, croissants and birthday cakes. A hot cup of Americano or a single espresso is only CNY 8, where most establishments in Hangzhou that sell coffee do so at midtown Manhattan prices (over CNY 40-60 is normal). With several locations throughout the city, the closest is literally across the street from the front gate of the Yuquan campus on Yugu Road, just two stores south of Zheda Road. Look for the bright orange sign above the storefront. Contrary to popular speculation, Mori is not a Japanese political dissident or dolphin in need of freeing. The name Free Mori is Fuli Senlin (浮力森林) in Chinese, and is composed of fuli , a transliteration of the English word “free” and meaning “buoyancy” in Chinese, and senlin, which means "forest," the first character of which is pronounced mori in Japanese.
